Résumé :
We begin with this extract from Italo Calvino’s Six Memos for the Next Millennium because of the importance of the intersections of visuality, verbal explanation and the imaginative in the performative archive. These intersections are realised in the mediated ways we conduct, capture, convey and critique interdisciplinary research in a digital era.2 Calvino asks that we encompass such values in icastic forms, ones that are recreations and reconfigurings of ‘reality’. In this chapter such a reality takes the form of a reflection on our own critical, design and research practices in building knowledge and mediations of interdisciplinary design research that consider design, place and platform.
