Résumé :
This book is the fruit of four decades of experience during which Gené has worked as a teacher, actor, director and playwright; roles which for him are inseparable from each other. Alongside his experience, he has spent years reflecting upon and studying his art, which has in turn enabled him to share his experiences in a multitude of books, conferences and master classes.
This particular book is rich in analytical rigor, which is complemented by examples from dramatic texts and classic films which show how the concepts he talks about—gags, suspense, incidents, deus ex machina, timing, rhythm, etc.—work on stage. This makes Clown Dramaturgy a very useful book for those who want to delve into the theatrical dramaturgy and / or create numbers or clown shows.
As an epilogue, Gené illustrates specific aspects of clown dramaturgy using three of his own productions: “Superman”, “Deconstructing Shakespeare” and “On Horatians y Curiations”
