The Chinese acrobatic training process introduced at the Nanjing Project, which provided a foundation for the successful intercultural hybridisation of Australian new circus, is documented. The Nanjing Project was a major factor in a revival of interest in Chinese circus skills, which have were present in Australia since the mid-nineteenth century. [editor summary]
