Résumé :
Miss Selby-Lowndes has written a history and description of Circus life, going behind the scenes and watching animals and families in training for the performance. It answers many of the questions anyone asks about the Circus, such as whether animal training is cruel, and how much danger is risked, and how much practice is needed to hang from the roof and be twisted round by the teeth. the author writes about the great families of Circus performers, and about the three major shows which travel about Britain today; showing their different characteristics and particular interests and lines of development. Anyone who has enjoyed a circus will enjoy this book. [editor summary]
